External Artworks for Rotorua Library

Creatives are invited to submit expressions of interest to produce two external artworks for enhancement of the new Library and Children’s Health Hub building, as viewed from Haupapa and Arawa Streets.

Design:
Artworks will need to be constructed from all-weather and robust materials, to fit within each area of approx. 6m height x 5m width. It is envisaged that the two art works will be duplicate or similar in style and materials.

The brief is broad but it is expected that the artist/s will respond to the scale, location and uniqueness of this community facility, and in particular, reflect the vision and design philosophy of ‘Te Aka Mauri’.

Budget:
A preliminary budget of up to $50,000 is proposed for the creation and installation of the artworks.

Timing:
Deadline for submissions is: 5pm, Monday 24th June.

It is expected that the completed artworks will need to be created and installed by the end of November, 2017.

Process:
To register interest in this project, please provide the following:

• A brief description and preliminary visual concept for the intended artwork.
• A description of intended materials, construction and installation methods.
• An indication of costings and time frames.
• A brief C.V. and, where possible, relevant folio examples.
