Sulphur Lake Sculpture Trail – Call to Artists

Sulphur Lake Sculpture Trail – Call to Artists

It’s been nearly four years since the last Sculpture Symposium and now is the time to re-think the future direction of the Sulphur Lake Sculpture Trail. There is no question that our three previous Sculpture Symposia have been real successes, with over 50 works created on site and 15 works permanently acquired for the city. However current health and safety requirements, amongst other things, has lead to a new direction.

The decision is to refresh the trail each year by adding with approximately three new permanent pieces (up to 12 artworks) with a focus on showcasing local carvers.

The call to artists is now open! Proposal are requested from local artists interested in fabricating or supplying a sculpture for the public art collection of Rotorua.
Check out the proposal information form here

All proposals must be received by 5pm, Monday 10 October 2022, and successful proposals will be announced Friday 14 October 2022.
