29 Apr Talented locals showcased during New Zealand Music Month 2021
Rotorua has always played a significant part in celebrating New Zealand Music Month and this year is no different. After being in lockdown last May, it is great to be able to offer a fantastic range of live music from local and national artists to enjoy in various venues around Rotorua.
With the deadline coming up fast (Monday 3 May 2021) Te Manu Tito Waiata Rotorua Song Writing Competition is aimed at local musicians, songwriters, composers and lyricists, to inspire local artists to get creative and write a song.
With the opportunity to have their song professionally recorded and a prize of $1,000 up for grabs, Rotorua Lakes Council Public Arts Advisor, Marc Spijkerbosch, can’t wait to see what the local community create.
“This initiative adds another level of support for local artists to share their unique talents with the wider community. There are some very creative people in Rotorua, and I look forward to celebrating the skills of our composers and songwriters,” says Mr Spijkerbosch.
Online entries need to be received by midnight, Monday 3 May 2021, via the www.creativerotorua.org.nz website or through this online link https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6208643/Te-Manu-Tito-Waiata-Rotorua-Song-Writing-Competition-2021-Entry-Form
