Woodcraft Festival 2017

Woodcraft Festival 2017

This year’s event will be a festival of Wood Craft, including live carving by experienced and emerging artists, a schools education programme – indoor and outdoor art exhibitions. The festival will have an art and ecology focus, a learning opportunity for our future generations to encourage preservation of New Zealand’s native trees and plants through recycling and reusing of natural and manmade materials.

Wood Craft Festival is looking for artist and practitioner participants in the live sculpture event and as demonstrators during the outdoor exhibition and school visits. The Live sculpture carving event is for 7 days from Monday May 15 – Sunday May 21. The Saturday and Sunday prior will be for setup.

We would like expressions of interest from both experienced, amateur and emerging artists (confidence using power tools is a must). Cash prizes are up for grabs as well as product and voucher prizes.
